Gambling Addiction

Most people start out enjoying gambling with the free offers that draw people in, but what happens when it becomes a gambling addiction?

Many do not realize they have a gambling addiction until they start winning. You win maybe for a few months at a time and then you stop winning and you start putting all your money back into the casinos, and then you wonder how you are going to pay your bills. When it gets to the point that you can't pay your bills, you have a gambling addiction.

You might have a full time job and say I will just use my savings and before you know it, your savings are gone - that is a gambling addiction.

Some people take out loans and credit cards and think they will be able to pay them back (I did this) - WRONG!! Nope it did not work. So you figure there has to be a way to make back all the money I lost. Well, after I lost a lot of money, I realized that maybe I had a problem, so I stopped playing, stopped for several months...just like that. I did not have a gambling addiction as I know others have.

After 6 months of not depositing, I decided to try again and I won over $1,000 - WOW!! But of course I wanted to put it all back in, so after doing this for several months I realized that whatever I took out, had to be spent on bills, necessities that I had been neglecting. So, that is what I always do.

But then comes the problem of waiting for the money in your account and you get anxious as you have bills to pay, necessities to buy before the damn money comes in - that is a clue you got a gambling addiction.

It is bad! Waiting for your money to come in is like waiting for the liquor store to open or waiting to smoke your next cigarette. It is a bad withdrawal. So you take the money you have, knowing you will get a payout, hopefully soon and put it all back in and then once you get that money you are almost in a rut again.

How many of you have experienced this situation?

What I do, may seem silly to the high rollers is I put in $10, take out $15 or $20. Put in $20, take out $30...in reality it may not seem like much, but if you can hold on to it and save it, it is better than loosing it all at once. Take some, spend it on bills, then whatever you have left, you can play. Sometimes it is easier sad then done.

So, I want you to tell me what you have done to overcome your gambling addiction. Leave your comments below.
